For quick 'on-a-roll' ideas, I would sooner use the E-Synth's sequencer than Cubase or logic. The rub is that I can't import the Eos floppy into the pc, either for printout with Sibelius or for finer editing with Cubase.
Can anyone help, please

you can export just the sequence the floppy. just go to Sequence Manager then press the Export button (f3). Just make sure you save it as type Midi.

Yep. I've followed the procedure. Problem is that sibelius won't import the midi file from the floppy. I wonder if it's because eos writes in MS-DOS, and that windows XP (and 2000) no longer reads this format.
Does anyone know if this is the case, and whether there's a solution? Any information will help...

I would check to see if sibelius can import a Midi type 0 and type 1 file.

I think a Midi type 0 file stores all midi data on a single track while type 1 stores each Track separately.

The way floppies are written hasn't changed since the dark ages.
Both XP and 2000 read dos (fat12) format without a problem.

It could have to do with Sibelius not reading the midi format, type 1 or 2.

Sorry, om and roonsmit; I peer out from the dark ages with such scepticism - I can hardly believe thing haven't moved on! . Thanks! I've learnt something new.
Both sibelius and cubase (VST 5) still refuse to read the exported eos MIDI file.
I'll faff some more, and make a fresh post, if I'm still in trouble.

Do you have scsi on the pc and Emu?

Would solve all your problems and be of great help, both in file management and in creating your own Eos cd roms.

No I don't have scsi yet on the pc, but your scsi suggestion certainly looks like the way to go to get the most from E-Synth. When time permits, I'll go that way. Lots to learn!
