Just replaced the fan in my E6400 and the "newly" bought at surplus for $4,
Sounds like the E6400 is gonna take off.
Though it is pushing great air It is pretty noisy like a jet!
Anyone got a line on fans that are quiet?

The best fan for the EMU is the PAPST Type 412 FM, only 16,5 dB(A)
It's german and about $15.

Seen another post where Papst fan was "louder than stock fan"
Without going thru hassle of ordering waiting and installing (again),
How bout throwing a resistor in line and cutting voltage down thereby lowering rpms on fan aka:less noise?
Any issues w/ ps using this method? Someone did it with 80 mm fan.
