I need some help here:
Want to update from 4.1 to 4.6 in my E6400 (1mb-cpu flash/2 mb-preset flash.)
I've read a sticky here that goes thru the procedure but seems to be some things left out. so If anyone could give me the blow by blow,
Would greatly appreciate it
Using a PC win2000 pro, have the files already in the computer.
Thanks'

You could bypass the confusion and update via MIDI instead... That is how I updated my Platinum to 4.7...

Hi Napalm,
I did not now this could be done. I have a ediriol usb to midi cable interface, would this work? What is the procedure for this? I am using 2 E6400 classics.
Thanks,

Oh, you have a classic?
Don't know if the Emu E-Loader Software supports the older samplers...
What problems are you having?

Basically:
To get the flashprep file onto floppy I follow instructions that is in a sticky post on this site "EOS Upgrading" by Ikechukwu in the knowledge topic. When I try to type (in the DOS window) flashprep.exe it won't take it saying inoperable program etc .
So I can't get it on the floppy. There seems to be a step missing or something I don't know about doing this.
Just want to update to 4.62 ,
Have read in Tweak forum that some people think you can't update EOS in E6400 w/ only 1/2 mb flash, then they go on to say you can't update to 4.10, Which I am running already!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, okay... Did you ever try drag/drop the file straight to floppy?
Also, when you format the floppy, make sure you type MS-DOS in the volume label area... Then afterwards copy the flashprep.exe to floppy or just double click the file and it'll bring up the window where you would type a, then hit enter, and it'll copy the file for you...
Give it a go...
