I made a preset of just every note isolated and amde a prest for each of the basic filter types, high pass, low pass, badpass, with NO samples and then saved them as a bank on my HD and just merge them whenever I want to make a new drum kit insead of having to rebuild each kit every time ...

highly recommended :pimp:

Also I put a high pass on all drums usually down at the bottom between the 60-80 HZ range to make sapce for subs....

i think what he means is this...

make a preset.
in the preset edit section add a voice for each key on your keyboard but leave the sample assignment part set to '0000 Empty sample'

Now, when you wanna quickly assign samples to keys u just load a copy of this preset and just assign samples from the preset edit screen - job done, quick as that.

Then make a preset, add one voice and map it to the whole of your keyboard. Now go preset edit, global, edit all. Set up a low pass filter.
Now go to the cords screen and set up modulators for the filter cutoff. For example, i use 'Midi A' as this is the first rotary control on my midi keyboard.

Now save this preset and you can load it into your track at any time, specify the sample, and just filter away.

Its a great way to work.

I have a folder setup called CORE, in here i have presets of all my favourite breaks, ready mapped (thanks to recycle), and also these blank template presets described above.

Then i have another folder called projects - i just save a bank for each track in here.

When i start a tune i just load in the presets that i need into the bank, save it as a project name under the projects folder and im up and running pretty quick. increases productivity loads.

It may take a bit of time to setup these presets but once they are done they are done

@SampleAndHold - your tips on drum layering are awesome :loveit:

BOO!

Yeah... still around. Been even more busy since the last I posted. Heck, I haven't been able to work on music for a while.

I am glad you guys are getting milelage out of my posts. It's good that I am able to help you guys. I may not appear to be on this forum very often but I am. I pop in from time to time to see if people need help and it looks like there are already great people helping those in need. It's interesting to see a post written almost a year ago still be applicable.

You guys have fun with that emu... I will be around.
