Hi!

Just came home with a new toy....a EMU E5000Ultra! (well, it wasnt new but used)

The problem is, it didnt come with a manual nor case or anything else....just the hardware...

So now i need to get (if possible) a 5000Ultra specific manual...
Anyone can help?

I need to know upgrade possibilities on it...especially on the HD/CDROM side.

I saw some post where someone said it supports IDE's drives, i thougth the EMU's where strictly SCSI?

My goal is to be able to use it on stage, playing different large samples, so i need to be able to load quickly between songs. editing can be done at home on the PC...

Please help,

Best Regards,
Juan

If you open the emu up, it supports IDE, however the pins are backwards. I have heard horror stories of people plugging in the hd and burning the board up. So becareful.

Also, Pretty much any scsi cd rom will work. You should be fine. I have a glyph that I don't use hardly at all. I need to get chicken translator but I am always nervous about adding things to my computer. I am afraid it will screw something else up.

I think there is a pdf of the manual on this site. It is, however, 300 pages long or so.... so don't print it out if you aren't ready for it.

Look around the site, you should find most of what you are looking for.

Thanx...

Thats great!

how do u mean backwards? Does it mean that the mark "1" shouldnt be the red stripe of the flatcable?

How about the memory? i see it has 2 DRAM and two ROM slots, do i use all of them that are empty to expand the memory or just the DRAM ones?

Thanx in advance!
