Hi! I don't know if this has been answered before, but after searching the threads as best I could I haven't found it.

I have an e6400ultra with a 3GB IDE internal hard-drive. This was installed pre-4.7 so I assume it isn't FAT32... does that mean it is FAT16 or is it an EMU special format?

What I want to do is upgrade to 4.7 and then upgrade to a larger FAT32 IDE internal hard drive... BUT... of course I would like to save the files on the old drive and transfer them to the new one. How do I do that?

Thanks!!!

Your existing hard drive will be in Emu format. The easiest way to back up the drive would be to get an external SCSI drive, then just do a straight backup from one to the other.
Then, install your new drive, format it to FAT32, then return your old samples from the external SCSI to the new internal IDE drive.
