Finally found a decent deal locally and picked myself up an EMU E5000 Ultra with 128mb RAM and 2GB Harddrive.

I have one question though....

i bought a SCSI card off ebay and it appears to have a "smaller than normal" connection on it.
I have looked on the back of the sampler and its definitely different.

The card is an Adaptec SCSI 2930 Ultra.

here is spec...

and a nice pic on amazon...

Can i use this card to connect my EMU to my PC???
and if so do i need special cable/converter

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

i have solved this problem now

the card was suitable - im running windows xp on a pc.

i just needed a cable that went from MC50 (the card) to HD50 (the emu)

i got one from maplin - ?14.99 tho

the card only cost me 99p on ebay.

sods law!! :biglaugh:

i also had to install the ASPI layer/drivers so that recycle and translator could see the emu.

soundforge is fine without aspi.

although the translator install does come with ASPI included.

hope this info is useful to someone in the future ;)
