if i have some CDR's that contain either Akai or Ensoniq Format samples will an E6400 EOS 4.6 read them from the CD-ROM SCSI drive connected straight to the EMU?
i assume the CDR's would have to have the Akai/Ensoniq Image on them?
cheers
anode.

Emu does read akai, but only the s1000 and s3000 I think, or something. I have not tried it.

Ole - well im getting the E6400 Ultra in about a week...just wanted to find out if i can read straight from the Akai/Ensoniq discs...incase i come across some via sample trades etc...will just have to wait and see i guess, cheers;)
ive been using an EPS 16+ sampler and im pretty sure i can access those files in EOS 4.62 - but id much rather have them on CD than have to load em all up from Floppy...

Once again, I'm not sure, so you better check the manual, but I believe you could read akai samples directly from the disc.

Hey anode, which Ensoniq Format you loaded?
I see plenty of Ensoniq stuff on Ebay and wouldn't mind checking some out...

Napalm: i loaded some .EFE samples from a Ensoniq EPS 16+ Formatted Zip Drive/Disk.
according to the manual you can load EFE & EFA (EPS, EPS16+, ASR-10).
yes ive seen lots of great ensoniq sounds on CDR on ebay...but i wonder if the Drive itself has to be formatted for Ensoniq not just the Disk?

Appreciate the response... I'm going to check out some of those compatible disks on Ebay...
That's a good question regarding the CDR issue... Not sure on that one...
Thx
