Help! panning is messed up on presets loaded from cd-rom

hi,
I just got myself a cd-rom drive so I could finally check out the cds that came with my esynth ultra.(8 volumes in eIII format,I think--E-mu standards, vintage, orchestra, world instruments, sound fx,etc...) I loaded banks from different cds into the sampler and I noticed that on alot of the presets the panning of the individual samples are either hard left or hard right.I thought at first that maybe I had some weird effect turned on so I turned off my effects A and B but the hard left/right panning is still there.I had heard that if you were importing presets from another brand of sampler that there could be trouble with mapping/panning but these are E-mu cds and are supposedly the cds that came with sampler so that should not be an issue. If anybody has any idea what this problem is or how to correct it I'd appreciate it.
thanks, J
