Looking for EFA (E-Mu File Assistant) users

Hi, I was wondering if there were any others on this forum that are still using EFA to send samples/store banks etc with their samplers.

I've haven't used the software for years but recently got back into using my E-Mu again so I set up an old Mac to use the software again. My E6400 Ultra is hooked up via SCSI to a Fastware "BridgeIT" SCSI>Firewire converter, the OS9 drivers create a virtual SCSI bus and the E6400 happily (well happily by flakey OS9 standards anyway) communicates with EFA and any other SMDI applications, Peak for example.

The beauty of the BridgeIt is that I can run a 20 foot Firewire cable out of my studio to the Mac in another room, something I could never do with a SCSI cable.

Hope to hear from some other EFA users. Cheers.

Is there any way to still get this software? I recently bought a used E6400, and it sounds like a really useful utility to have along with it...

[edit, two minutes later]

D'oh... just clicked that you're using a Mac (brain's a little smokey this afternoon :spliff: ). Was the software available for PC, or was it a Mac-only app?

Software is Mac OS9 only. But it is really useful :D almost worth getting an old mac, like really old Mac, with SCSI and networking, just to use it. The software is no longer sold.... but I'm sure there are ways to get hold of it still.

are there any other good programs for managing your emus presets etc on the PC apart from ZoeOS????

im finding the 199 euro price tag very hard to swallow as my emu cost me a little more than that itself!!!
