okay, does anyone have any good examples of how to use the diode, flipflop, and switch in the matrix mod? those are the ones that i can't quite to get a hold of. i put them into a chord trying to find out what exactly they do, and i can't get them to affect the sound at all. i read the instruction manual, but i don't really know how to program an analog synth, so there explaination didn't work too well for me. it would be cool if i could see a chord that actualy works, so then i could figure out exactly what those do.

Okay, well...
first get a stab or whatever sample..
cords - source:ModWl dest:Switch amount: +100%..
source:Switch dest:FilFreq amount: -75%..

Now using the mod wheel you'll see that it just switches between 2 values - in effect, between no change and -75%. Not the best example but you will be able to see the switches effect. If you put this one in the 3rd cord..
source:DC dest:Switch: -50%
What ever you set the switch percentage is where on the mod wheel the switch whill occur. The order has to be right.

so does that mean that if you have the mod wheel 75% up that the filter opens or whatever? or is it just when you move the mod wheel all the way up, at the very instant that it hits 127 cc, the filter just switches over to a 75% filter value??

i will play around with this a little later.

one down, few more to go, what about "sum" what is a good way to use that exactly? i am thinking something with lfo's but don't know....

Whatever you set the DC at is where the switch occurs. The -75% is just the amount of filter cut/boost to be applied when the switch occurs.

Sum seems to be just a way of saving cords...I need to read and experiment more though...

Sum adds cords together...

So let's say that you had cords 1 and 2 both controlling cord 3. Then you decided that you need the same values to control cords 4 and 5 as well.... If you wanted to do that, you'd have to use up nine cords for all the control -

Cord 1 and 2 control 3.
Cord 4 and 5 control 6.
Cord 7 and 8 control 9.


But by using Sum you can do it using only five cords -

Cord 1 and 2 control Summing Amp
Cord 3, 4, and 5 all use Summing Amp as their input.

Unlikely that you'll use this very often, IMO...
