As you guys all seem really helpful you may be seeing alot of me!!! :)
I've got my emu e6400 connected via scsi ( xp home) and like i have read it sees it as another device 8 times - This is no problem and soudforge 6 can see it and transfer data back and forth no problems. However wavelab 4 and recycle both fail to see the sampler. I have had a play and tried to define the sampler in both apps but no luck. I sthis something more to do with xp seeing the emu as another device or should i stop moaning and stick with soundforge!!!
thanks again my friend

Right this is how it should work.
Switch Emu on.
Then Switch p.c on .
Log into windoze. i then get the recognising the emu 8 time thing - just cancel out.
thats it soundforge 6 works fine - recycle 2 works fine on my machine.
However - in 98 - i used to be able to switch the P.C on before the emu and refresh scsi at a later time (when i needed to use sf or recycle). that don't work with XP and Recycle - u'll need to log out of that account and go back in (i think)
hope this may help in some way?

hi mate.
recycle and wavelab won't recognize the sampler if you don't have a ASPI layer installed on your machine. if you load recycle and go under about, system information it will tell you your current ASPI layer version on the bottom.. or none if there is none (probably the case). Go to adaptec.com and get the aspi layer from there. I think the latest version is 4.71/2.
hope this helps.
