i think it is just rebranded, as it calls itself a castlewood orb when you look in the control panel on xp

there are other factors, for instance i am new to mac and dont know how things work.do you attach the usb adaptor with the mac switched off then boot both together?

perhaps your mac isnt intel based?

of course my mac is intel based.

when I hooked it up, it just showed up in peak.
no drivers, just worked.

and of course you should try to boot things up in every which way possible.

good luck

does the sampler need to put in any mode prior to sending the sample?

Imac
sampler does not need to be put in any special mode.
I used my castlwood cable with a jaz drive.

here is something i left out.

The scsi to usb will not work if there is any other scsi device in the scsi chain.
It only worked if i was hooked up directly to the sampler.

yeah it is an emu e6400 with a scsi jaz drive in it..would that be classed as a chain?

ps, my laptop does now detect the jaz drive in the emu as a removable drive, yet bias peak doesnt see anything

yes that is in the chain.

when i used this for my e5000 ultra
i had an ide hard drive inside of it, so the scsi adapter had a straight shot to the sampler

it did create a conundrum for sometimes.
for instance, when i used it with my asr x.
I would have to transfer the sound,
then save to floppy,
then shut down, and hook up my scsi drive,
then reboot and transfer from floppy to scsi

i might take the scsi drive out then and see what happens.if it was to send the sample will it come up on the emu screen?

thanks again

the scsi transfer will happen automatically.

I don't quite recall the process
