Are all EMU CD Roms created equal ?

In my search for great banks. I have bought a bunch of emu discs. But I have noticed there are different sets per model Like the ESI 32 set or
E IIIX.
Are the Banks for the most part the same or is it worth say getting the Vintage EIII disc rather than a F-4000 analog odyssey disc?
or both for that matter?

For the most part, the banks with the same name from one set will be exactly the same in the other sets. All of the banks from the EIIIX Vintage disc (volume 8) are included on the ESi4000 Analog Odyssey disc, plus a lot of extra stuff (very sweet).

If you have to choose between EIIIX library discs and the Formula 4000 ESi discs, go for the ESi discs. You'll probably find everything from the earlier EIIIX library (OK, not everything... I don't think the drum kits from EIIIX volume 16 are on the Formula-4000 discs, but it's not a loss). Plus the later discs will have lots of newer material as well.

I have very little experience with the ESi32 production set discs, I've only got two of the discs from that set (volume 2 and 12), but the banks on them are great. Should have had more, but I got ripped off by a sh*t on eBay.

One little thing, though. If you have a classic model e4 (rather than an ultra), there are some ESi banks that you won't be able to load because you'll run out of preset memory (presets are stored in the system RAM, rather than the sample RAM). You can still merge the presets one at a time into two smaller banks and re-save them, though... it takes longer, but you only have to do it once.

Thanks Verm,
So , while always looking for new presets, it might be okay to get 4000 series just for the added few banks on them -granted if the price is right !
I have ESI prod soundset plus WCC green they both load fine in my 6400 classic.
Thanks again for the info.
