This card seems to be a popular addition to the ole Emu, but is it really worth the same price as another E5000 ?
What's it all about?

If you need effects w/ somewhat real-time control, go for it...
It's pretty good. And you can find deals if you look around.
If you don't need effects, don't get it

$279 straight from E-Mu!?!?
That's insane... I need to get a few of 'em and re-sell on eBay :)
Rd: RFX : do I want one, or what?

I bargained a bit with E-mu as well. I got a similar deal as cm_locuss... it didn't take long to get here either. I'm in Canada and I got it in 3 days. As long as I don't use EOS 4.7 everything runs smoothly. I am still trying to wrap my head around the potential of this beast. It is pretty wicked so far.

Just ordered mine. I didn't get *quite* as good a deal as cm_locuss but I got a package with the RFX, 8 extra output option and SCSI mounting kit for under $500, which is a hell of a deal. They're also doing deals with RFX + ADAT outputs and RFX + 8 inputs...
Give 'em a call if you're thinking about buying any of this stuff...
