Hi,
I'm a noob here and need some assistance- if you could help I'd greatly appreaciate it.

I bought an E5000 and need to save my samples. Ideally I'd like to use a Zip drive being that I have so many disks to use. The E5000 won't recognise the Zip drive though...and is searching for an IDE drive. I believe the previous owner had an IDE Drive- so>>

a)could it be searching for this?
b)He had a Castlewood Orb- would you recommend using this instead as he will sell me his old one?
c)Are Orb disks(?) easy to come by?
d)Is there any easy way to set up a ZIP drive - I'm using a 50 PIN DIN from the Sampler to a 25 PIN DIN male- is this the right connection?
e)Any other suggestions?
f) Should I shut up?!

Thanks for your time- it's doing my head in!

Make sur your sampler and zip drive are set to different scsi ids.

On the sampler go to master>setup>scsi.

My settings on the sampler are:-

scsi id :6
scsi termination :on
disk button goes to :last
avoid host on id :none

On the zip drive I have scsi id set to 5 and termination set to on.

My drive works fine with these settings, if yours doesn't then you must have a problem with either your drive, scsi cable or scsi on the sampler.

Once the sampler has started up have you tried going to disk>utils>mount? It should attempt mount your scsi devices.
