Chip identification on Ultra units

Hi everyone

Could anyone help me to identify on a 4XT ultra board the chip offering
the digital AES/EBU in/out and the extra 16 MIDI channels ?
Is it possible to take it out by myself?

On the unit's motherboard they ate identified as IP 7500 / IP 7862 or something similar.

I'm planning to offer to my 6400 Ultra the options I had on my 4XT ultra because the 4XT isn't booting anymore

Thanks 4 your help
Best regards from Luxembourg

It is circled in white above. Some units have the chip built in (soldered to the motherboard) and some have a chip that can be removed, or socket if no chip is fitted (as shown above).

I have seen both, it should be fairly easy to tell by looking at it and comparing the E4XT and E6400 Ultras. I suspect your E4XT has it built in, as the DWAM comes as standard on them.

Thank U

Hello Robr

After checking both motherboards I noticed that the 4XT's one has the chip you showed me soldered in it, and the 6400's one has an empty slot like the one in your picture.
Do you know how to extract the chip from the 4XT so that I can fix it in the 6400 socket?

Thanks for your interest and skills

Best regards

Not sure if its possible mate, I would ask an E-mu approved service centre.

What country are you in?
