How do i change to the prev/next preset using midi controls

I just want to change the patch im using directly from my midi keyboard but i cant seem to find anything about this in the manual. maybe its something obvious on the midi keyboard itself. or maybe i just dont know whatthe function is called. can anyone help? ....

You're probably referring to MIDI Program Change. Check the MIDI menu.

I have looked at the manual but it just goes on about changing banks and magic presets. i just want to change the preset (not the bank) from my midi keyboard. if you can give me idiot proof instructions anyone out there i would really appreciate the dumming down. thanks

It's only a question of making sure that:
- your E-mu is set to receive Program Change messages (On my E4K: Master --> MIDI --> Prefs2, set Rcv Prog Change to ON))
AND
- your MIDI keyboard is set to transmit Program Change messages
For example, I use an upgraded Yamaha DX7 as a MIDI controller. If I select patch 1 on the DX7, the first patch on whatever instrument is set to the same MIDI channel is selected, etc.
What MIDI keyboard do you use?
