Extreme Sample Convertor - request for legacy EMU support

Hi everyone,

I chucked an idea down to the authors of Extreme Sampler Convertor about not only reading EMU formats, but writing them out:

http://forum.extranslator.com/viewtopic.php?p=158#158

Would be nice to see some support there :slayer:

Since these guys can read EMU Banks and sample formats, its not a stretch to write them out - especially given FAT32 compatibility so no need for mucking around with weird disk format nonsense.

thrown your weight beyond it - if we can get them to adjust, it could be an excellent offline editing tool.................

Cheers!
M

It already exists in Translator.

Translator has supported converting into any type of E4 or EOS for years now (going on 4 years).

We are including support for ->E3/ESi, and perhaps Emax in our next release, and these things will be in the Mac release by years end.

He seems to have killed the forums where people asked for features, so it goes to a blank page now.

http://www.extranslator.com/

they seem to update their tools quite regularly, but haven't seen emu writes there yet.

i've been trying to get Translator to work on the Mac as it was claimed this works, but it simply crashes on Mac OS X in my standard Intel MBP - anyone had any luck?

Check with Chicken Systems customer service, I'm sure they can help (they wrote the software).

They also have a beta for the brand new Mac version. it likely works better on MacTel machines.

Are you trying to convert OUT of EOS or E3 or EmuX, or trying to convert into it?

I've checked in with customer service (they do respond quite quickly). I've tried the new beta also. I'd love to be able to convert back and forth to from EMU format, but I can't even get the application to install properly. After install I get null exception error when I start the app.

I eagerly await the next version :-)

The PC version does seem pretty stable from past experiences.

Are you speaking of the new Mac Beta?

We just released a new beta this morning. Check your email.

If the null exception still exists, email us on it quickly, we want to exterminate it!

I'll try to get ->EOS in ASAP. Are you running 4.7?

Sweet.

I tired the beta (last email was Feb 4 - build 64). Same behaviour.
is this the latest or the 6.0 build?

P.S. I'm using EOS 4.70 (E5000, E4 Platinum) plus an ESI32 3.02 (rarely used these days). I have logic 8, so conversion from EXS to and from the Emu's would be handy, but mainly I'd like to use the tools to edit/trim and backup existing patches.

Contact support@chickensys.com about the Mac beta.

Converting into .e4b's shouldn't be a problem. I'll see if we can't put it in next week. The code is already ported, just needs to be tested.

Success!

Just got the new built of Translator Mac OS X and it works on my Macbook pro (at least runs). Will test out some conversions.
