General questions about the E4XT Ultra sampler

Hello,
I have a few technical questions about the E4XT. Been using Kontakt and want to move away from software. Driving me crazy!!

Anyways,

How long can a SCSI cable extend to transfer files to and from the PC?

Is SMDI the best means to transfer files to the EMU? Anyone having any luck with media card readers?

How large of hardrive can be used under EOS 4.7 when formatted to FAT32?

That is all for now. Look forward to your responses!

Thanks

SCSI specifications are typically 3m in length, (9.8 ft). But that should also include the connectors and any cable hubs. If you keep the length under 8 feet, you should be fine.

For details on the HD size when using FAT, check out this file:
http://www.emu.com/support/files/storag ... Addend.pdf

I believe you will hit the limit for the # of folders/banks before you run out of disk space.

Hope that helps.

Dan

i am using a zipdisk setup (250mb), the only backside is that i have to convert all my samples on harddisk to 16bit before copy them to fat-zipdisk.. but with audacity it goes rather quick.

i use it mainly for drum samples anyway..for all the other patches, i record and build from scratch.

But i must admit that a card reader would have been supernice.. but i dont need that amount of space as a card reader can offer.

i am having 1 scsi zip drive and 1 usb zip drive, moving disks back and forth. :)
