Hi all,

Just a couple of quick ones about the IDE kit:

1: Is it usable with the built-in SCSI kit, or are they mutually exclusive?
2: where do I get one?!?

Cheers,

Mike.

Hey Mike,

1. Yes/kinda (there is only 1 slot to install a drive...someone had a work-around for it though. I believe they installed a SCSI drive for transfers and attached a laptop drive to the SCSI drive. with velcro.
2. Ebay (seems to be a standard IDE cable but you will need to make a power cable for it.

Do a search and you will find all the info in this site.
Be careful which drives you install. You power supply may not be able to handle both.

I am confuse about this topic.

The Sampler only has one SCSI connector inside for harddisk. How can you mount a SCSI drive and then connect a laptop IDE drive to the SCSI drive? I think you need a SCSI to IDE converter and then connect the drive directly to the mother board, is that right?

I just upgraded my 6400 EOS to 4.62 so now I am investigating on how to install an internal laptop IDE drive and I really need all the advicwe I can get. Thanks in advance.

The drives were attached to seperate drive busses, one to the IDE and one to the SCSI. The SCSI Drive was mounted in the mounting bay on the side of the Ultra, and then the IDE drive was attached to the SCSI drive by Velcro.
