ZoeOS source code development

Hi since the source code has been released is anyone planning on modifying it ?

I just might if I get time. There is no point in duplicating effort so has anyone had any thoughts about what they might want to do please post them here.

I think the first thing is to get it working with the latest version of Java.

Has anyone managed to build it ?

I thought it might be a good idea to set up a google code page for it, so it could be worked on by as many people as possible?
Possibly setting up a Group for it at the same time so that people can communicate about what they are doing?

Sure that sounds great. I created it here

http://code.google.com/p/zoeos/

Anyone who wants to help develop Zoeos please pm me so I can add you to the project.
I tried to upload the zip from zuonics but its too big so will need splitting.

Cheers

Having looked at the zip last night, it does appear to contain both the finished compiled product, in several forms, as well as the website and assorted other bits and pieces.

Yes, I also would like to see a Mac version. (and a more in depth help guide :grumble: ) Great job continuing on this somewhat abandoned project guys! The Zuonics guy (Paul I think his name is) Did some great work here and I am certain it can be made even better. Your efforts will definitely be much appreciated in the EMU community.

lots of downloads, not much if any discussion about it. I dont even have a pc to look at it yet. So I am a long way off from doing anything with it. Still its up and there for anyone that wants to do something with it

Free as in Beer?I am not sure what that means. It still flashes demo. I am having a bit of trouble figuring out how the key generator for making a license works. I guess that means I won't be editing code so quickly? :)

Anyone figure that out?

There is also talk of much later versions, such as 1.41 being the later one, not the 1.25 that was given away, so I don't really get that either.

I have managed to import the source code into a Netbeans project and compile on my laptop. The progam runs, but I haven't tested it with my sampler yet.

I don't have a lot of free time at the moment, but when I do I will post my results. I suppose the next step will be to get it into a releasable state, but I think there is still a lot of work to do before then.
