If this has been addressed I can't seem to find it but...

I simply want to create a CD on my Mac with premapped/named banks that I can directly import into the emu through it's scsi CD (I have no scsi card in the computer)

If someone can tell me how to do this...WOW thanks!!

PS...I've tried running chicken systems on PC in emulation mode and it just doesn't work - I DO have cdxtract for Mac - can I use it somehow?

hey guys just thought i'd share this with you - i figured out how to get this going but you'll need a PC or Parallels (bootcamp is definitely not recommended since it's not a perfect process and you need to do a lot of back and forth between mac and pc)

This would be a lot easier if the Mac version of translator did emu conversion but since that's not the case!...

1. Create an EXS bank in logic (should work with kontakt as well)

2. Load up chicken systems translator in parallels and create a virtual EMU drive - be sure to note where it saves this file - seems to be arbitrary.

3. Drag the EXS instrument and samples folder into parallels and then from within translator, drag the instrument onto the virtual emu drive you've created.

4. Verify that the virtual EMU drive now has your EXS banks in it then go find the emu image wherever you saved it on your parallels hard drive.

5. Drag the image back into OSX and burn it using Toast as an ISO 996 data file - it'll give you some error (this is not a valid image do you want to continue etc...) just continue and burn the disk.

6. Import into EMU and enjoy!

I would note that for WHATEVER reason this seems to work about half of the time so prepare to make a few duds - it's not an issue of right or wrong - the process is just very buggy but very worth not having to map everything out on the emu screen!

Does this works even when you've mapped shit out? Of so, them I'm sold!

Yep - that's why I do it - not just to name things but to map out the keyboard

Cool, cool. Did you use Translator Pro, or the free version?

not sure if it's pro but it ain't the free version
