I searched the forum and didn't see anything regarding this, I apologize if this is old news...

Hello all,

I have an EMU 6400 Ultra and im on OS 4.01 (or something similar, the EMU is off right now). I would like to upgrade to 4.70. do I have to install all of the previous OS updates to get to 4.70? Is upgrading to 4.61 first needed? How do I go about doing this? Most importantly, is putting the OS on a floppy as simple as dumping the EOS onto a disc on a PC then putting it into the emu via the disc drive? Thanks in advance,

Look at the bottom of this site (for WIN system):

http://www.emu.com/support/files/downlo ... Platform=1

All information is given. Since you're still on 4.1, you'll have to
carry out an intermediate update in order to read the compressed
4.7 OS disk.

If you want to install 4.7, just grab the OS4.7 download at the site
above. Inside the compressed file, you'll find an executable. Just
start it and then, the program asks you to enter the name of your
disk drive (often A:). Afterwards, the OS is written to the 3,5" floppy disk.

Then, swap the disk into your Ultra and just follow the upgrade
instructions in the EOS manual.

There shouldn't be any issues. Good luck.

...if you don?t need Res-Realtime Modulation and
if you don?t have a RFX Card...
stay on 4.6

You don?t need 4.7
