Hi - is there an easy way to transfer samples/presets etc. (digitally) from Proteus X LE into EOS IV samplers (Ultra series) ? ... except sampling the audio of course

The only way I can think of is to get the Emulator X software sampler and use that to export the bank in EOS format - then you just have to find a way to get the bank into the sampler - I am currently investigating using cf cards and a scsi pcmcia card reader, but others have had luck with removable ide drives. Alternatively, if you have an external fat32-formatted scsi drive you can attach to both your sampler and pc, then copy the bank onto that and then load it in in your sampler. If you do this, make sure not to connect the drive to both the pc and sampler at the same time or you may corrupt it.

Hi stu, thank s indeed - this is important news

Meanwhile I heard that in yet another version, VX, there might be an export function too. In the LE, this appears to be blocked though.

In fact, I do have an external drive, but formatted it with EOS ... works very well with the sampler, but my PC (Win98SE / fat32) cannot see it.

Would you think it is worthwhile changing the external HD into a fat32? How can I first transfer the sample bank to another media (took a while to get it on there ... )? Plus, could I load at all directly from the Ultra any of its samples, voices, presets etc. onto a FAT32 drive?

To transfer smaller chunks of data from PC to the sampler, why not use ZIP media?

Thanks again - cheers, drdel.
