e4k CPU Flash ROM

"wirefall" is selling a 2 MB Flash ROM

the question:

will the 2 MB CPU Flash ROM
fit into an e4k turbo?

the answer:

No, does not work. For the rack-models it's coming as a module with the chips on, that you exchange like regular Sample-RAM.
For E4k it's a soldering joint for the experienced pro technician, where the chips need to be soldered onto the motherboard. Also have a E4k and bought the regular EOS 4 update back then, nobody told me it wouldn't work with the keyboard, until I read the papers that came with it, reading that for updating it with EOS 4 you have to send it in to Emu, or an E-mu Service Center. I had a look into the E4k then, just to see that the Flash Ram-chips on the motherboard were of different size, so you couldn't pull out the chips from a Classic EOS update module. The E-Synth Keyboard btw. has 2 MB by default, so you can update it immedietly.
