Well, some people are saying that 50 is the new 30! Any 50 year olds here!?

I'm 44 at Christmas, feel like a 20 year old, and am just glad I'm still around considering the amount of punishment I've given my brain over the years.
Originally had an EPS, played with an S1000, but wasn't keen, and am now the proud owner of an E5000.
Porn for the ears.
Am I the oldest kid in town?]

another 25 here. got a e-synth about a year ago and have only been getting into it the last couple months. started out using reason around 21 and always wanted to get into hardware so i kept buying shit and never using it. now i have a room full of hardware and dont know what the fuck im doing :slayer:

anyway, i cant believe i didnt start earlier, the emu is the shit! so easy to use now that i have sat down and worked through a couple tracks with it. and working with hardware is just all out more fun that good ol' reason.

anyway, glad to hear im not gettin to old for this shit anymore, glad i read this thread :slayer:

wonder if im to old for video games cause thats the only thing that keeps me from producing more often. :spliff:

ez
We all need a break from reality from time to time, and games are the nearest thing I can get to doing things I can't do in reality, such as space travel, Kicking sorry alien butt, and racing around like a psychopath.
All without getting hurt, or arrested, or having to kill too many braincells, likeI did in the pre computer daze. And my musical instruments seem to last longer as well.

31 years old and I've used E-MU samplers for the last 10 years or so.

Started out on an Emax II then I bought an e-64.

Then an ESI-32 (alongside the e-64) and finally I now 'only' have my E-6400 Ultra.

I used to use an Ensoniq EPS and EPS 16+ too (and my small Roland S-10 at some point in time too) :-)

At the age of 24, I have been plugging away at this E-6400 Ultra for about 3 years. I had a piece of shit scsi drive running off the thing and have just upgraded to using a Jaz drive which I purchased (complete with two cables) on ebay for 30 bucks -- Bargain.

I, probably just like most of you as well, can identifiy tunes that were reason/software based or hardware based very easily. And if most of the young ones are using the software and will not ever find out the beauty behind the Emu or various other hardware methods, this is a possible great divide in the future of drum & bass or other musics. I'll stay on this side of the crevass.

I'm 29, have had my E5000 for about 4 years. I'd been workin' at my Emu for years in total isolation (didn't know anyone doin' this sort of thing & didn't access the net much) till the day I found this site  The good thig is now I'm beginning to understand what it is I've been doin' all this time!!!
cheers.
