Hi, I have just registered today. Does anyone know if or where you can buy the EMU E4 sample disk library? Or even E3 samples if they will work on an E4K. I have only just bought an EMU E4K and the preset samples it came with were fantastic and I want more basically. Cheers.

eBay is, I think, your best bet - you shouldn't have to wait more than a few weeks to see a complete set. There are some sample CDs listed on ebay.co.uk at the moment, and be sure to search for 'all items available to the uk' to catch the US vendors: middlemansalesandauctions usually has some of the rarer cds. Check completed listings too - there are a couple of venors who have stocks but don't always list - you'll want to keep an eye on them.
BTW the main library disks are listed as an E3 library. Presets seem to be completely compatible.
I'm glad someone else likes the EMu library. I have to admit that for production purposes I have better examples of many of the sounds, but if you're trying to squeeze all your needs into a bank for a live set they are an excellent balance between fidelity and space. The library was designed to support your every day requirements, not to provide a use-once-and-thow-away construction kit for this year's summer hit record.
And remember that you can import Akai (S900/S1000) and Roland disks. There is a lot of Akai material on the web if you search, and don't forget to search this forum too!

Many thanks for your response Steve! I wasn't aware that the E3 sample library was compatible as when I checked the E2 / Emax II libraries I was told they weren't compatible. I have an E4K sample library called 'Best of E3' which I love. I quite fancy getting an E3 too, but more for the way they look rather than anything else as I assume the E4K is better. Cheers, David
