i will never touch my emu again.

only the power button.

no more double button syndrome. no more hitting undo then watch the sampler undo, redo, undo, then redo.

that is right. i am a free man.

i got my dwam in the mail today and got it sorted. looks like i can adjust everything in the sampler from a ascII keyboard.

now...

the only problem... finding a keyboard with that plug that is the size of a midi plug...

one other thing.. what the hell are those digital inputs. they look like xlr, i don't understand what they are. oh well. i love the fact that i can type in to that sampler now. my time will be cut by 75 to 90 percent now....

i would recommend everyone to get one. well worth the 100 dollars.

Are you serious? The ASCII plug is the size of a MIDI cable? Damn, that must be some OLD technology...

The digital jacks are AES/EBU digital connectors, the professional standard for digital. AES and EBU are the American and European professional audio groups, just so ya know... It's still just a digital signal, and since the Emu doesn't support 192kHz or anything crazy, you should be able to convert them into S/PDIF or maybe optical for use with lower-end (read: priced for mere mortals) digital gear, using something like this.

Good to hear the DWAM is useful, I'm going to buy one tomorrow  :slayer:

i might look into that coverter box. it looks pretty good. i have never seen inputs like that before, and all my gear seems to have that tiny optical thing.

well it is all good. i will be looking around for either the keyboard or an adaptor for a newer one.

cool.

one week...

you can access everything from the keyboard.. and, can you guys believe it, i found an ps2 to ac, or whatever it is adapter at office depot. no way. cheap little thing too. i never thought i would get so happy about something. i should have boughten this years ago...

Ok, I got the DWAM. Which keyboard do I get? It looks like a 5-DIN PC-AT connector or maybe get a PS/2 Keyboard and a converter cable. What's everyone else doing?

i bought an 11.00 dollar keyboard that had a ps2 connection. that will be too small for the cutting edge technology of the dwam board. what you will need to do is by a 7.00 dollar adaptor that is a ps2 to adt, i think or is it adc, well it is ad something, you will know it when you see it, and you put that on the end of your keyboard's connector, and there you go.

you can now do anything you want from that keyboard, all you have to do is hit the power button now, and that is it.

Like I said...you don't have to worry about the PS/2 converter. Just get an old ASCII keyboard. They are very easy to find at any hock--shop or computer reseller...Paint the keys and away you go (that's what I did just to make them easier to remember)....Nads.
