does anyone know how to put an effect on just one midi channel when using an emu e5000? If you can help that would be cool, thanks.

You can only assign the effects via busses ie. the subs 1,2,3,4. At least that's what I think. Anybody?

well it depends, how many effects do you want to use at any given time? if it is like just two, then you could do the empty preset thing and switch around the effects. but i would figure you want to affect all your channels, and in that case, do it in audio. you can only have to effects going at once. what i mean by that is, you can have section a be reverb, and section b be vibrato, then apply secton a to channels 1-8, and vibrato from 9-16... but as far as i know you can't have each channel, or preset with it's own individual effect going on.

when you go to record into audio, take each track and add the effect that you want, of course you are going to play each track by it's self, so you can do something like that. or you can just record into audio and add the effects via software.

now, if you have the rfx card, now that might be a completely different story.

I have an E5000 and the effects situation truly does blow. I want that RFX. But until then I either resample with effects on, or all of my dry stuff i put on Sub 1, or you can always use the MIDI effects in your sequencer.
