Hi world of EMU--this is my 1st post, so kindly cut me a little slack ok ? <smiling>
I want to buy an EMU Proteus 2000 yet, I have 100's of .wav files of intruments etc. EMU Roland)

Besides your RAM chips, what else would i need to BURN my .wav files for use in a PROTEUS 2000 ??
I'd appreciate your knowledge or a URL(s) to read the exact EMU parts i need. So far, I've read that an EMU E4XT Ultra AND a FLASH ROM BURNER CHIP(?) is needed. Is this the LEAST expensive way to go ???? THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME. Regards, Don
Anyone have a unit for sale. (as well as a Proteus2000) It must be in top-notch working order ok ? Thanks for your time.

Hi Don,

think only Ultra sampler can 'author' a Flash Rom. There were at least 2 of these re-writeble Flash-Roms, 16 MB and 32 MB ones, guess that was it, not much memory  There's a 32 MB Flash Rom on ebay (ends Feb. 23, BUY NOW 249). Then you need the Ultra, which only transfers raw samples to Flash, so you have to make all programming stuff in Proteus. If I may ask you, why are you after doing this, you could buy an Ultra and use it straight away ?? !! Only reason could be it has more filter models... if that's worth it... IMHO def. NOT, Ultra offers enough.
Carefully read instructions and warnings for Ultra regarding wav-file reading/transfer, you still find documents on emu.com > support.
