i make drum n bass/drill n bass/idm/dub/hip hop stuff. trying not to be formulaic about it but rather to just make whatever sounds good and floats my boat at that moment.

why would someone call it the drum n bass destroyer?

what is drill and bass?

i make drum and bass as well.

perhaps, the reference that the emu is the drum and bass destroyer might be in reference to how well it works with the style?

unless it is meant to be negative.. actualy confused by the statement

For me I concentrate on DnB and 'Nu Skool Breaks' (which is pretty much dnb at 135 or so bpm anyhow!)

I'm sure the DnB destroyer reference is a positive one

I make DnB, of course.

Also make minimal techno, dubby breaks, and weird stuff.

The funny thing is that it all sort of sounds like Drum n Bass, I just can't stop with the Z-plane basses and clattery drums, no matter what I do.

At the same time, stuff I've learned making other styles is influencing my Drum n Bass. I use a lot more dubby elements now, and have been experimenting with slow/half-speed sections in tracks.

squarepusher/venetian snares style uber-breakbeat mashup stuff. also reffered to as "break-core".

basicly taking dnb a step further like 200+bpm and non formulaic structures (i.e. every track does not go: "intro-first drop-2nd drop-break/buildup-2nd break-outro" like it does in dnb). bent on taking the core elements of dnb (breaks and bass) and making them mind-warping. dj-hostile.

Everyting!

Hip-hop/house/downtempo/DnB

You can get some very different sounding vibes out of it. It doesn't all have to be so future sounding. Those Z-planes can also bring the lushness, not just the bassline madness.

i do IDM/drum + bass fusion. not quite drill + bass, not quite your normal dancefloor beats.
