Hi all
Here is my story. I decided to buy a new IDE Hd for my Ultra Esynth.
The old internal SCSi drive was noisy, like a motorbike!
But the SCSI drive was an old EMU HD with a name : E-mu E4K production Sounds.
To say the truth some of these sounds are alright but not all.

I just bought an Ide adapter 2.5" to 3.5"

and took the chance
to buy a Samsung Spinpoint M5 HM160HC 160GB IDE !
My Emu power cable from SCSI drive served for the new IDE disk , i just saw which cable was delivering the 5volts
for the samsung (i used multimeter anyway).
The results are at my Esynth Ultra recognized the drive as 130 Gb and not 160Gb as Emu O.S has a limit to this.
To say the truth i was very skeptical at the beginning.

The good thing with this particular disk is that its super quiet, you don't hear it at all !
Now i hear only the fun of the machine, which compared with the noise of the original SCSI disk its nothing !
I loaded some presets to see if its works and god thanks . its ok.
The funny and nasty thing of the story its that i messed up with the SCSI drive before the installation of the ide disk and i lost
the content of the "E4K production Sounds Set". :???:
Its the same like the "E4 Ultra Production Set Backup Data" Cd-ROM ? Has anyone heard about this E-mu scsi hard disk before ?
Just reply or p.m if someone has the content of the HD. thanks
cheers E-mu Steel rocks

Very happy with this, lets hope that someone has a backup for the scsi disk E4K production sounds backup.
The SCSI disk was installed with the machine as extra and i had no backup. ;)
