SCSI adapter!

Hi all,

I'm looking for a PCI SCSI adapter so I can connect an old xp machine to my 6400 classic and (hopefully) use it to send samples from recycle. Would like to get ZoeOS working too.

Am I correct in saying the Adaptec AHA-2940UW is my best bet? I've been reading good reports here about it..

Is there anything else I should look out for? Don't wanna waste any mullah on something that won't work

Regards

Seb

I've used several adaptec cards - PCI and Cardbus - and they have all worked fine.

Generally they have the reputation of 'just works' in any SCSI application

That card is solid. I use one to connect to my ESI-32. It's a Wide SCSI adapter, though, which means that if your 6400 is narrow SCSI like my ESI (50 pin), you'll need a wide-to-narrow cable that provides active termination of the unused bits. Otherwise it'll be unreliable.
