Browse ROM presets from E4 Ultra

Hi people,

I've recently purchased a Techno Synth Yard E-mu ROM, to put on my Platinum.
To my knowledge it seems like there is 3 levels of resources in such banks :
- samples
- instruments
- presets

Samples don't need to be described; Instruments are basic mappings of samples over the keyboard, and presets usually include more complex settings based on one or several instruments (linked) + controler assignments (modulation + MIDI A + MIDI B, etc.) -> those are set up in the patch cords of the preset.

I'm able to browse and hear instruments, but didn't manage to see any presets. I even tried to load entire bank into RAM, then tried "copy presets to Flash", reboot, etc. but still I can only see instruments, no presets.

Did anyone already succeed to do this ?

Thanks for your help,

Olivier

Hello!

You can only see and manage the samples and instruments of all proteus 2000 boards.....

In the case of the Presets, the P2000 series and the EOS sampler are incompatible!!!

If you want to get Presets like on the Proteus 2000 range, you must programm your own presets in the EOS sampler! With the LINK function!
But, don´t forget that you haven´t all the possibilities of the Proteus range.

And in my case I found another important thing:

The EOS sampler can only read/see/managing 1000 samples!
But on a few of the Proteus Range Rom Boards are far more samples than 1000!

So your EOS sampler can´t see these samples above "999". And couldnt handle Instruments with samples above "999"!

And if you want to save the Roms as an EOS Bank (it´s easy possible), you will see, for example on the Mo Phatt Board, that you can only save 19,7MB!!!
Everything more on this board will be invisible for the EOS sampler.

Finally, if you want the presets of the Rom Boards, you will program it on your own!

Thanks for your answer, VDS, this had to be clear even if this is no good news
When you say that you haven´t all the possibilities of the Proteus range, are you shure ? I was thinking that the E4 Ultra series and the Proteus modules shared the same architecture, at least the same synthesis engine ... do you have any example ?

For instance in my ultras I can make one preset containing 2000 samples.

Hello Olivier!

When you go to the SAMPLE MANAGE Menu you have a maximum of 1000 samples! From 000 to 999!

Eventually you can use more than 1000 samples in a preset! But not more than 1000 DIFFERENT samples!!!!

Please check this!

There are a few differences in the architectures between the Ultras and the Proteus Range!

55 filter types in the Proteus (changing the resonance only after the next note on) - 21 filter types in the Ultras (but in EOS 4.7 the resonance become "realtime" possibility)

Possibility of Syncíng the LFO´s and the Envelopes to midi clock in the Proteus Range.

The Ultras can only Trigger/Restart the LFO´s and the Envelopes to midi clock!
1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 per clock.

Thats a big different in my opinion!

Chris
