My Emu e6400 ultra has been flight-cased up in storage for 2 or 3 years and i got it out the other day to find there is a problem with the screen. When i boot up, everything is fine except that the screen looks like all the lines are jumbled/scrambled so it looks real weird. you can make out where the buttons are etc but it is unusable, do i need another screen or is it something else. Help, i need to resurrect some old tunes i was working on .. thanks whoever may still be out there! thanks, howard

This has happened me on a few ESI4000 models which have not being used for a while. I fixed the problem by applying pressure on the cable connection that runs from the mother board
to the screen panel. The problem faded with regular use of the sampler and returned when the sampler was left unused for a while. I know the samplers are different but your description of the problem is identical to the one I had. I did it carefully with the sampler powered up so you could see how much force was nessessary for the screen to kick back in, once back in it stayed.

Thanks, it as been in a flightcase in storage for 3 years, it was fine before i put it in there. I will give it a try. Do you apply the pressure to the connection at the board end, or the lcd end. I was looking into a replacement scren but this sounds more logical, would a new screen fix it? or maybe a new cable?

Would love to get this back up and running, i am missing the sound! i will try it..

I applied pressure on the connection on the motherboard, not the screen end, but be careful as my sampler was a different model so this might not fix your problem
