Live Samples Question

So I've got my keyboard running into the sampling input of my e6400 ultra
A voice in the Preset has Sampling ADC assigned to it
I've allocated a note range of one midi note to the voice
I fire that MIDI note into the sampler with a note holding on the keyboard
My understanding is that the midi note should gate the note being fed into the sampling input.
But I hear only silence. Does anyone have any advice? I'd really like to use the emu's filters on my juno 60.

It works.
Just check the Preset and the Routing Settings again.

Which preset settings do you mean? And by routing you mean the voice to the bus and the bus to the output? I've rechecked all this a couple of times...can you tell me of any specific mistakes that could lead to my problem?

ALRIGHT

I just wanted to tell the world that in order to get live samples to work, you must set your sample voice to the desired input, but first make sure that in the master -> fx -> setup -> ext in menu, the input to which you are feeding external audio must be set to off. otherwise that input will default to whichever bus you've set it to there.
