Can anyone tell me if the RFX card can be installed in the Classic EIV (rack version)?
Does anyone have or know of a complete list of the available hardware upgrade options for the EIV Classic, incidentally?

RFX is for Ultra units only.

The Classic EIV can have the following upgrades:
6313 - 8 Analog Outputs
6801 - Digital Optical Interface (ADAT)
6861 - Digital Optical Interface (ADAT)
16MB ROM (Esynth or Orbit Phatt) = CPU flash upgrade

Hi Sirriles,

thanks for getting back to me. Isn't there an FX card, too? I've been scouring the net for one since I got my EIV...

Sorry, no FX for EIV.

You could program the sub outs and use an external unit linked via MIDI. Might even be better than built-in FX.

HI Sirriles,

I've got rid of all my external FX now. I tend to use the computer for that. I'm disappointed there's no FX for the Classic. VDS mentioned in this thread
viewtopic-f=1&t=4116.php.html
that there was an EIV Classic FX upgrade option, though, it's very rare.
Incidentally, what's the difference between the two ADAT Optical boards you list above?

There's the FX-card for E IV, like I wrote in linked thread also.

And 6801 is a sampler model number, no option.

Yes I guess you're right, there was an FX update for EIV. I don't remember this—it may have been added very late in the game.
Also, scratch the 6801, my mistake.
