Backing Up E-Mu Sample CDs OS X

I've just discovered it's possible to backup E-Mu sample CDs to .dmg disk-images using Disk Utility on the Mac. You can then archive them, and burn them back onto CD-Rs whenever you like (again with Disk Utility, no extra software required). Good to know, if you're not already aware of it.
Note .dmg files are, as far as I know, Mac-specific, and aren't the same as the .iso or bin/cue files more common in the Windows and Linux worlds. It may be possible to convert them so they can be used on a PC though.
