Incorrect panning of mono samples...

Sorry, if it was discussed already... I wonder if someone could explain me, why the mono samples in EOS based samplers are panned incorrectly: the panning range is - 64/+64, but when a mono sample is panned to cca -/+ 32, it is already panned hard left/right... (in other generations of E-mu samplers (EIII, EIIIX, softsampler Emulator X2, X3) the panning works as expected: mono samples are panned hard left/right with values -/+ 64...).

For me this very annoying, for I made many custom banks with the Emulator X3 softsampler (with many voices panned to different positions...). But as soon as I exported the banks in EOS format, the pannig is completely ruined...

When I try to convert mono samples to stereo, they are panned correctly (in EOS), but this is not a solution, I fancy...

Thank you for any help...

You ´re using RFX ? It´s a bug since 4.6

Hi,

thank you for your prompt replay...

I have tried it on all my EOS based machines: E4Xturbo Classic Rack and Kbd (EOS 4.62,) and E4 Platinums (with RFX card, EOS 4.61 and 4.70), with the same results...

I will try to downgrade to pre 4.6 EOS, according to your advice...

Thank you very much... !

I have just downgraded E4 Ultra Platinum to EOS 4.50, but, unfortunately, it does not cure the trouble...

But what puzzles me: when I have test a factory bank where m o n o samples were combined to a multisample, the panning worked correctly... I expanded the multisample, the panning of the individual voices still worked correctly... But when I am trying to build a new voice with the same mono sample, the panning is working incorrectly...

Anybody..? Nobody..?

... very well, I will answer to myself: this is not a bug, this is the way EOS treats mono samples... Sad, but true...

Fortunately, there is a quick way how to resolve it: to switch the chorus ON in the voice modifiers page, even for amount of 1%. Then the mono samples use doubled channels, and are panned as expected (from -64 to +64).
