emu tech support

I just spoke to dan, who's the manager of tech support at emu in ca. well, that's where they are now.... he tells me that the department will soon shut down & relocate to florida. I'm guessing this is going to at best seriously compromise the tech support on their hardware lines.
maybe there's someone (mike barnes?) we can call on this side of the pond who knows what they're talking about.
as for my flash authoring problem (& dugawug's), well, this guy dan says he's done it himself & it works fine. naturally.... & so there "must" be something wrong either with my hardware or with the flash I bought. from emu. duh. maybe if his subordinates shared my correspondence with him....
& so I am trying to get a note from them (now back w/ sales dept.) to return these flash simms for replacement. which they can't test before they send them because of... (see para 1)
& so I'm just going round in circles w/ this now. I dunno if I'll ever get my own sounds into a proteus now.
it's a shame; the machines are all quite nice but the company has been fucked up royally (as have most modern companies) & as usual, it's us end-users who lose out when we invest loyalty & hard-earned cash in product lines that are just killed off like unwanted kittens being drowned in a bucket.
does anyone know if this new "desktop sampling system" can make flash simms for proteus? or if it can be squished into a 3U box & flightcased so that musicians can use it that aren't confined to a desk? yeah, that's what I thought.
