EMU and PC setup

I'm thinking of ditching my hardware mixer and using a Delta 1010lt to route my EMU into a PC.
Does anyone know if I can add plugin effects to the EMU's inputs and do a final mixdown of the EMU, any soft synths and any effects without having to bounce, assuming I have a fast enough PC?
Thanks,
Ezman

Yes you can totally do this. Each input acts as a channel & you can apply plug-ins to it. Only problem is, you might experience latency. But M-audio does write really good drivers, so it shouldn't be a problem. Peformance will also depend on the power of your CPU & how heavy you get with the plugs.
I was working on a setup similar to this & it works like a dream. The great thing about having your E-mu routed at all times is you can print your parts at any time & this opens up room for more tracks. Good luck!

excellent - that's what i wanted to hear!!! I'm really buzzing about this. It's gonna be a huge change for me as I've only really worked using MIDI.

Your life will be much easier this way. The results are something no virtual sampler can sonically achieve. And its a much better alternative to selling your hardware sampler for the emulator PCI. The converters on the EIV series samplers are pure class. I don't think a "creative labs" converter can test. Keep in mind these machines costs well over $1500 new (quality parts!).
Consider keeping your mixer around as you can output your mix through it & give it some analog warmth. Good luck & if you need any help let me know.
