this one goes with the loop feature on the emu...

what you want to do is take a sound, whatever sound you want, this should work with just about anything. but results could very from different sound sources.
what you want to do is take the end loop point and move it to start loop point. what will happen is that there will be a small gap, the sampler will not let you actually place the end loop on top of the start loop, there will be at least 9 samples inbetween the start and end loops.

now start hitting your controller (make sure you turn down your monitors as some of the frequencies will be very high) as you adjust your end loop point. eventually you will get an actual decent tone from that loop point. just adjust it until you like the sound. i have made a tone that sounded something close to keystone capers or spider fighter. have fun with it.

Am I right in thinking that when you say controller you mean the jog wheel? If it is then I've tried this and it seems a good way of getting 'fresh' waveforms!

i actually mean the keyboard. you adjust the loop points with the job dial and hit the keyboard until you hear something you like. oh, and you can also make the emu scratch if you go into your sample and make it scrub...
