First Post! Copy CD contents to Internal Hard Drive?

Hi all.

Just got my first Emu sampler (E5000 Ultra with internal 20GB drive). Have had akai, roland and yamaha samplers to date, must say that I love the OS and sound from the Emu.

First question. I have a few akai Cd-Roms and I want to copy them onto my internal drive. So far, I have only been able to load individual banks one at a time from CD to the internal drive - quite a slow way. On my old Yamaha a5000 I was able to copy from CD directly to Hard drive, so I am wondering if there is a function to do the same with my sampler?

Thanks,

Simon.

Press disk/browse, then F1 (for Utils), then then F5 for backup.
I know this works for copying Emu format CD-ROM's onto an internal hard drive, but not sure about Akai format CD-ROM's. Is it a SCSI or IDE drive? If SCSI, you could do it with chickensys Translator software (which unfortunately doesn't find IDE drives  ).

Thanking You!

Cheers Wigworld for the reply.

It's an IDE drive. I'll try the backup option with one of my Akai CDs and see if it works.

Si:)
