Cut & Paste...

Does any one know if it is at all possible to paste one sample with another? You know you go into the paste option under tools in the sample edit screen, but it only seems to allow me to paste the sample with it's self. It doesn't seem to allow me to say past sample 1 with sample 2. I was going to try to do the snare tail lenghting trick to see if I could get a decent sound, but ended up not getting very far.

I did make a pretty good lead out of something else though using the cross fade bit.

I hope you guys can give a hand. That would be great.

in sample manage select sample 1 -> Go Utilities, Hit - > Copy set the start/end points to select region, hit ok to copy this segment.

Select sample 2 -> Go Utilities, Hit Paste -> Select Start Point for where u want the pasted sample to begin from. Hit OK then u get to some options,

'Insert' (this replaces the same segment in sample 1)

Linear Mix
-> (obviously these 2 allow the paste command to mix sample 2 into sample 1)
Equal Power Mix

Still no good? why not layer both sounds on same key on different voice, then in preset editor of the second layer go to Voice Edit -> Tuning -> Next Key press once to get to 'Voice Modifiers' page then adjust the 'Start Offset' Parameter to taste so only the tail comes thru of sample 2 (this mixs this tail with sample 1)
This is much more flexible cos at the same time u can be filtering the tail with a hi-pass for example, set the level, envelope etc

then re-sample if desired.
