Hi all,
I have an expanded E6400 (Classic). The expansions Are:
128Mb RAM
128 Voice
ADAT in/out
2Mb Flash RAM (to load 4.62 OS)
As part of purchasing the 2MB flash, I got the Esynth ROM, but I think
I'm having an issue because of the 128 Voice Card. The instructions
say to put it into the (1) Rom slot, but the 128 voice card has space
for 2 roms. If I put the Esynth rom in it, it won't boot. Does this
mean that I can't use that ROM? If not, which ROMs can I put into
it?
If I can't use it, is anyone interested in buying the Esynth ROM?
(not including the 2mb flash, of course since I need that to load OS4
and use the ADAT expansion :)

You can only have 64mb of ram and use the e-synth rom at the same time. You can disable the rom however (master, setup, misc) temporarily when more than 64mb of ram is needed. HTH

I tried that, I took out one of the 64mb sticks and it whatever I tried, if I put the rom stick in, it won't boot.
I just don't know if the ROM is defective or if there's something else going on (like I can't use the Esynth rom if I have the 64 voice expansion).

I have an E-Synth Rack classic too...
Is there a difference between the 64 RAM sticks for classic and ultra machines ? How much are they nowadays ? What about the midi expansion option and the 64 voice expansion for the classic ? Is it still available ? Price ?
cheers...

That's what I'm trying to figure out. My classic has the 64 voice expansion and thus it appears like it supports the new roms... I'm just not sure. I can't find any documentation on the expansion, it should be explained there...

That must be the difference, I got the wrong Esynth rom then :( Mine only mentions E64 and E4 (I think). Oh well, no biggie, I really got it just for the 2mb flash... anyone wants to buy it, just let me know :)

I'd be interested to buy it if you would be happy to ship to the UK? Check your PM's.

It doesn't work in the E5000 Ultra either.
Maybe a bad ROM?
