hello all,

I've recently bought an emu e6400 ultra off ebay - bargain price...
I need to use a zip to transfer files to the e6400, i have the zip drive, but the cable i have is not the same.

It is a SCSI 100 Iomega external zip drive. The attachment at the back of the Emu is not the same as the Zip drive...

What cable do I need?

If someone can please help me, it would be much appreciated

You need a very standard SCSI cable. Most computers use the smaller connector that the ZIP uses and most SCSI devices used the bigger connector. Any store that sells SCSI cables will have the cable you need (DB 25 to Centronics 50 pin).

My Emu won't mount my zip scsi drive!

Thanks guys, i got the cable > DB25 -- C50...

But now, I can't mount the drive on my Emu!! The Zip drive powers up OK, but when I go to "mount" on the Emu, it goes through "Mounting SCSI drives: 0, 1, 2," etc.. but does not find the zip, it only finds the floppy. I noticed that while going through "Mounting SCSI drives" it skips the number 6, it goes straight from 5 to 7.

PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks,

Better check out your SCSI termination.

Yeah, if the Zip is last in the 'chain' you need termination on. I always forget when I move things round / use different drive combinations.

The beast seems pretty ambivalent about SCSI termination though, maybe Roonsmits knows why?
