ok newbie question,

I've got my SCSI drive recognizable by both PC and EMU, is it possible to drag and drop samples from teh PC which can then be used in the EMU? I know some people are diong this with sound forge etc. but is this a special thing within programs or can you do it from windows? And do I need to format the drive?

I don't think it's wise to let windows and the sampler operating systems have
access to the drives at the same time btw

When you say I shouldnt let windows see the drive- what should I do. Is there a way to make windows not see it?

erm... u should maybe format Emu eos not Fat32, on ur sampler hard drive.

I just remember reading that it was an unwise thing to do when emu released 4.7.

my advice is, put the drive in an external SCSI case, format it to Fat32.

Connect the drive to the PC, copy the samples across, shutdown PC then disconnect drive from PC.

Then connect the drive to the EMU so u can load the samples. This is the procedure qualified by EMU to use SCSI disks with Host computer and the sampler.

Alternatively, u have removable storage as an option. eg 2 SCSI zip drives-configuration, connect 1 drive to the EMU and one to the host computer (Mac/PC). Use a single zip disk for your file transfers. Recommended - is a large internal fat32 formatted ATA drive in the sampler for permanent storage.

Hi Paul, this is quite easy to achieve:

right click on "my computer", choose "manage", select "disc management".
right click on the scsi partion you want to hide, choose "change drive letter and paths.." ande choose "remove"

Beware, don't right click on the partition and choose "delete" nor choose "delete logical partition", since this will erase all data !!!!!!!

Would there be any problems with hooking up my SCSI Zip drive to the computer and copying the samples across then hooking it up to the EMU afterwards"?

Not if you're talking about PC <-> Zip drive and then Sampler <-> Zip drive.
