the most obvious sign is the display becoming very weak. the problematic bits thought, were rfx setups being "forgotten" along with fx settings. it would just stop routing anything through the rfx at some point. random noises when i play samples and choppy playback.

it was pretty extreme sometimes and made the emu unusable. however i have to say i have a lot of extensions installed in it. hd, rfx, adat and analogue extensions, extra midi and word clock extensions.

if you're not having any problems don't worry about it.
