I was lucky enough to win an auction - that was simply listed "range of old EMU parts". I think the guy worked for the NZ parts distributor here in NZ and he prob wound up with a whole lot of stuff.

I had the E4K and also a EIV in getting repaired recently - I was having a clean up at home and found a box with a smaller box that said "6855" - opened it - and there was the chip that I had been searching on the net for.

Pure luck - I almost biffed the box out!!

Try eBay?

thanks, if only i had such luck! ive been checking ebay and unfortunately nobody seems to be offering them. i noticed that the last auction for "techtone" wasnt taken by anybody so i msg him and hopefully he still has one lying around. i checked inside my sampler, and apparently its the model where all i have to do is find the appropriate rom to put int he slot. no soldering or anything (phew!).
i emailed some of the service centers on emus website to check if they have the parts so i'll keep my fingers crossed..

i was wondering if you know what type of rom is required (simm type? im kinda out of my league when it comes to these things..).. maybe i can find a 2mb rom from an old computer store or something and use that?

cheers,
